Upon
his return from Charlottesville, Dr. Renfro began to proclaim
his healing. He went public with his
fight via a television program from the Freedom of Worship Church
where he attended. The doctors at Univeristy of Virginia (UVA)
had specifically said, "Go
home and live." Although he understood their message to be
one of hopelessness, Dr. Renfro decided to take it another way. "That's
what I'll do," he said. "I'll go home and LIVE!"
At
Pastor Sturgill's advice Dr. Renfro took some time away from
work in the early part of 1997 to seek God and grow in faith
and
knowledge.
He traveled to several conferences, was prayed over by many congregations
and ministers, and received other strengthening words of prophecy
from other prophets of God. Already an active church member, Dr.
Renfro began to study the Bible more than he ever had in his life.
Remember, "... faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word
of God." (Romans 10:17) In the spring he began to conduct healing
services on Tuesday night where he would teach on the Biblical truths
of healing and then pray for the sick. All the while he was becoming
more symtomatic himself as the disease began to devour his body. |
